Bell AI Fabric Expansion Signals Major Opportunity for Regina
The largest investment in Saskatchewan’s history is taking shape next door, creating significant opportunities for Regina businesses, workers and the local economy.
The expansion of Bell AI Fabric in Saskatchewan, expected to generate up to $75 billion in economic value at full buildout, represents one of the most significant economic developments ever announced in the province. While the facility is being built adjacent to Regina, the scale of the project is expected to create opportunities for workers, businesses and suppliers across the region.
The project is expected to support 1,200 construction jobs, up to 600 permanent operations and management positions, and thousands of additional jobs across the broader economy. Bell has also committed to working with Saskatchewan suppliers, Indigenous partners and post-secondary institutions, creating opportunities for local businesses and workforce development partners to participate as the project advances.
The project is expected to generate up to $3 billion in provincial PST revenue, with Regina projected to receive more than $480 million through Saskatchewan’s Municipal Revenue Sharing program. These figures reflect the scale of the anticipated economic and fiscal impact across Saskatchewan.
The announcement also establishes Bell AI Fabric’s head office in Regina, further connecting the city to Canada’s growing AI sector. Alongside other significant capital projects underway in the region, the investment highlights the factors that continue to attract investment to the Regina area, including available land, transportation infrastructure, energy resources and a skilled workforce.
With its proximity to the project site, established business community and regional workforce, Regina is expected to play an important role in supporting the project’s development and ongoing operations. Simply put, while the facility may be located next door, the opportunity is very much a Regina one.
