EDR AND SEA LAUNCH ECONOMIC OUTLOOK 2027: AGRICULTURE, TRADE & ENERGY
REGINA, Sask. [October 5, 2026] – Economic Development Regina (EDR) and the Saskatchewan Economics Association (SEA) are partnering to host the inaugural Economic Outlook 2027: Agriculture, Trade & Energy, bringing together business leaders, industry experts and economic professionals to examine what will shape Saskatchewan’s economy in 2027.
The event takes place November 16, 2026, in Regina, focusing on two sectors central to Saskatchewan’s economy: agriculture and energy.
“Economic Outlook 2027 is about looking beyond the numbers and understanding what the year ahead means for Saskatchewan businesses,” said George Sakyi, Chief Economist with Economic Development Regina. “By bringing together leaders from agriculture, energy and economics, we can identify emerging opportunities and position Regina to capitalize on them.”
Discussions will explore how changing trade relationships, global demand, investment and major energy developments are shaping the province’s outlook. Tickets are on sale now for $65 each, with a limited number available. Attendees are encouraged to secure their spots early by clicking the ticket link in the event details below.
The Agriculture & Agri-Food panel will examine trade pressures, changing export markets, financing and growth opportunities across the agricultural value chain. Confirmed speakers include Kristjan Hebert, President of Hebert Group; Tristan Culham, Partner and Co-Lead of the Agribusiness & Food Group at MLT Aikins; Chad Ross, Executive Chair of the Saskatchewan Cattle Association; Leigh Anderson, Senior Economist with FCC; and Tyler Groeneveld, CEO of Protein Industries Canada.
The Energy & Nuclear panel will explore nuclear development, natural hydrogen, growing power demand and opportunities for Saskatchewan businesses. Confirmed speakers include Ranjith Narayanasamy, CEO and Vice Chairman of MAX Power Mining Corp.; and Grant Cherkas, Nuclear Specialist with SIMSA.
Through panel discussions, economic insights and networking, Economic Outlook 2027 will provide practical perspectives to support business and investment decisions while connecting leaders across business, government and industry.
“We’re excited to work with EDR to bring Saskatchewan’s business and economics communities together,” said Bruce Crouter, President of the Saskatchewan Economics Association. “It’s an opportunity to better understand what’s ahead and what it means for businesses in 2027.”
Economic Outlook 2027 will turn economic insight into a forward-looking conversation about what’s next, where opportunities are emerging and how Regina can capitalize on them.
