In the spirit of reconciliation
This land is Treaty 4 Territory—the ancestral lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda and homeland of the Métis. We acknowledge the harms of the past and are committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation and gratitude—respecting and honouring the treaties that were made on all territories.
Economic Development Regina is advancing the Calls to Action to foster economic prosperity for all in the Greater Regina Area. We are committed to celebrating the culture, values, and language of Indigenous peoples to preserve the spirit and intent of Treaty 4.
In 2022, EDR committed to economic reconciliation through incorporating Indigenous knowledge and world views into our corporate culture and documents. Our goal is to create space for increased economic opportunities for current and future Indigenous generations.
We take it upon ourselves to strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and build a more inclusive future. That starts with asking questions and listening to the wisdom in the room.
We don’t have all the answers, but we are grateful to have had the opportunity to participate and listen in today’s forum and, hopefully, build towards economic reconciliation.

Last week, two members of our team headed down to San Francisco for the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, where they were able to make some prairie waves showcasing Regina as the global ag and food powerhouse that it is.
Perfect timing as our full team now continues to do much of the same this week, with the Agtech Accelerator Cohort 2 having just landed into town. In partnership with the Cultivator, our team will be hosting and connecting with 13 of the top agtech startups from across Canada, the Uk and Australia.
Connecting all across the world - we’re working to bring agtech home.

Happy St Patrick’s day! We’ll be cheers-ing to not just green beer, but all the beer Regina is home to.
Known for our craft breweries - Rebellion Brewing Co, District Brewing Company, Malty National Brewing co, Pile O' Bones Brewing Co., and Bushwakker Brewing Company. Our homegrown craft beer industry produces an annual economic output of over $10M - and growing. Craft beer has taken over Regina - beyond just the brew pubs, craft beer is seeing retail growth with local restaurants, liquor stores and now even Costco carrying their products. The Craft beer scene, while still somewhat new to Saskatchewan - it is no wonder it is brewing in Regina:
👉 We are situated in the heart of the prairies, with access to high quality Malt barley
👉 Large location advantage with access to world-class transportation infrastructure
👉 Home to innovation with an ecosystem built for entrepreneurs
👉 Connectivity like no other city. This is the place where you can not only build connections but create real momentum through those connections
We’ll cheers to that

Yesterday we listened to panelists; Mayor Sandra Masters YQR, Federal Minister of Tourism, Randy Boissonnault and Hon. Laura Ross - MLA speak to Regina, Regina’s future, and the future of our visitor economy. We couldn’t be more excited for all that’s to come, here’s why:
👉 $5.8 M just announced in new funding for Saskatchewan’s Tourism sector. With the funds being distributed to various projects (including the Globe Theatre, Saskatchewan Science Centre, and REAL District), these projects will help in building a strong visitor economy as tourism becomes an economic driver for our city.
👉 The work being done by the catalyst committee. The proposed catalyst projects will not only largely impact our community but Regina's path to growth in the coming decades as these facilities garner larger and continued major sporting and must-see events.
👉 Plenty of events already on the books. Regina is already home to world class events including, Canadian Western Agribition, FROST Regina and Canada's Farm Show Regina, SK. With our connectivity advantage we’ve also now scored the 2024 Brier and 2023 Volleyball Nationals.
As a community filled with energy, culture and proud prairie hospitality, we already know Regina to be the ultimate Host City - this just further proves it!
