Economic Development Regina (EDR) is proud to announce Regina’s first Council for Entrepreneurship Growth (CEG) and their goal to build a robust entrepreneurial eco-system in the Greater Regina Area.  As part of the council’s role in championing entrepreneurship within the community, they announced a movement called “AudaCity YQR,” which will promote and support the message that Regina is an entrepreneurial city.

“Audacity is when you think big and don’t apologize for it. It is having the courage and perseverance to pursue lofty and sometimes daunting goals in order to challenge yourself and improve the surrounding community,” said Jason Drummond, Managing Director of York Plains Investment and Chair of the Council for Entrepreneurship Growth.

AudaCity YQR encourages people to take the leap to becoming an entrepreneur, while creating a support system to prepare them for future challenges.

The CEG is an outspoken voice and representative of current and future entrepreneurs. One of the priorities is to focus on building and sustaining an entrepreneurial culture in Regina as well as creating awareness and celebrating entrepreneurs. Further, supporting new, established, and potential entrepreneurs and showcasing the important contributions they make to the economic, creative and social fabric of our city.

“EDR is committed to being a driving force in building a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said John Lee, President & CEO of Economic Development Regina, “The strategy is meant to achieve EDR’s vision that Regina is a top place to start and grow a business.”

Another goal of the strategy is to create a support network for entrepreneurs, which will provide best-in-class services and enabling them to have a stronger base of knowledge and fundamental direction when starting their businesses.
